Sunday 1 September
8.55 am.  Watery sunlight.  I have a sticky right eye it takes a while for it to open up fully these mornings.  I have to massage the lenses to clear the vision during the day as my sight in that eye suddenly goes smeary..Drinking cyder vinegar is difficult as it burns my throat even when it has been watered down.    Church  on the beach.  We had a picnic in the sunshine a very enjoyable event.  When I arrived home late afternoon Edward had cleaned the home as a big surprise. I was thrilled to bits.  We poured lawn weed killer on the grass hopefully to clear the infestation of weeds.. I was distressed to discover insects crawling in a circular patten on the wall of the spare bedroom.  Tiny brown thread worms in small circular clusters a most unnerving encounter.. I used bleach to wipe the wall.

SATURDAY 31 AUGUST
9.30.AM.  Blue sky, cool.  Charity Lunch in St Helier.  I bought new shoes for £3. for myself also shoes for Edward £6. in George Fashions shop sale.  Manuka 100% honey £6. 63. half price. Face serum £18.   I travelled into town on the bus it is a nice trip as the stop is only twelve yards from our front door I always alight outside Boots the chemist.  The new rose for the watering-can is no good it cracked on its trial usage £3.99. wasted.   I still feel down and tired...I feel lonely.
Dreamt... I was modelling and living in an Art House.  I have to visit the loft to bring down the table top electric oven stored there since our arrival in Jersey seven years ago.  I will have to lower it down through the ceiling hatch inside  a duvet cover as it is to heavy for me to lift.  I will slide it along the rafters to the hole.  Pain in my knees kept me awake last night I had to remove from our bed and sleep on the sofa bed in my studio...

28 WEDNESDAY
Cry shop. A charity raising funds for children in Romania.
8.03. am.   My lower back is very painful and I have a snuffly nose.  Deep blue sky, dark shadows the people walking down the road are not wearing coats so there cant be much wind.  Edwards back and shoulders are rosy red in colour from yesterdays sunshine.  The lawn has a glossy look, the green  has a distinct shine from the hours of watering from the newly repaired water sprinkler.
Charley the old man who resides in the house across the road from us is sitting in his front room window.  It is no wonder as should he look up  first thing in the mornings he would catch gimps of me naked each as I slip out of bed to pull aside the window drapes.  But being an old man I doubt  if he would even  notice my state of undress, he waves to me some times.  He only goes out occasionally,  Edward discovered he drives to Albert pier for breakfast coffee at the life boat hut with his wife.  It is a good cafeteria run for the dock workmen and followers.  11.PM.  I feel so bored.  Edward bought me a pink garden watering can.  Driving with Graham.  Edward says that he feels younger and happier from the steroid treatment.
A VERY SPECIAL LUNCH TIME TREAT PREPARED BY EDWARD FRESH JERSEY LOBSTER
27 TUESDAY AUGUST
CATHERINE TELEPHONED, SHE MAY VISIT JERSEY FROM MALAYSIA NEXT WEEK.
9.11.am.  My body is reeling with heat.  I am drowning in heat from a hot flush.  I feel weak with torment from heat every part of my flesh is damp with perspiration my head is spinning and I am breathless my tummy  painful heaving with stress.
Dreamt... I was in charge of a cafeteria but the staff including Edward were no help to me at all.  The waiting customers had to serve themselves as I could not cope.  I sacked all the staff that were no good intending to try running the cafeteria again at a latter date...
Pail blue sky watery shadows.  Edward has taken to shaving while sitting on the side of our bed...Very bright sunshine...  My lower back is painful after all the vacuum cleaning...I worked in the garden pulling weeds I raked the lawn and mended the water-hose connection the the lawn sprinkler.  Edward worked in the garden attacking the weeds with me then  washed my car at my request, it looks shiny.  I cleaned upstairs in the bedrooms and filled washing machine.  I have too piles of cloths waiting to be smoothed and put away afterwards I find that particular chore so dull.  Edward wore a mask over his mouth while working in the garden.  It made it easier for him to till the soil and cut the grass protected from the pollen.  His breathing was good much improved.
